Overview
The Power Automotive Media Network Redesign revamped automotive sites like Dragzine and Chevy Hardcore. It built a flexible design system modernizing UX while keeping each brand’s identity. Later, it extended to Mustang Week as an event platform.
The client aimed to modernize their network of automotive media sites with a more dynamic, performance-oriented design that improves readability, engagement, and usability across devices.
Each publication serves a distinct niche audience within the automotive space, requiring a balance between consistency in structure and individuality in branding
and tone.
A key requirement was to design four reusable editorial templates that could be applied across all eight websites. These templates needed to support a wide range of content types, including news articles, technical features, event coverage, and long-form editorial pieces, while ensuring clarity, readability, and strong visual hierarchy across desktop, tablet, and mobile experiences.
Close collaboration was a core part of the process, with weekly client meetings and continuous feedback loops in Figma used to refine layouts, iterate on design decisions, and align on evolving requirements across the network of sites.
We designed four core editorial templates that act as the foundation for all eight automotive publications.
Each template was structured around content hierarchy and readability, ensuring that both high-impact feature stories and dense technical articles remain engaging and easy to navigate across all devices.
Our process began with wireframing to define layout structures and content flow, followed by high-fidelity designs across desktop, tablet, and mobile breakpoints. This allowed us to ensure consistency and responsiveness across the entire user experience while adapting layouts to different screen contexts.
Throughout the project, we worked closely with the client and internal teams in Figma, using real-time collaboration to iterate quickly on feedback and refine design decisions. Weekly alignment sessions ensured that evolving requirements were incorporated smoothly, resulting in a set of flexible, production-ready templates that could be applied across all eight sites while maintaining each brand’s distinct identity.
Mustang Week was delivered as a follow-up project using the same end-to-end design process. While it did not reuse the existing templates, it followed the same workflow of research, wireframing, high-fidelity design, and iterative feedback sessions in Figma, ensuring consistency in quality and approach while adapting to its unique event-driven requirements.
