Specialized Group
How a Japan-based recruiter turned an AI proof of concept into a live revenue-generating product
Specialized Group needed AI in their recruitment workflow — fast. We started with a prototype to prove the concept, then built the full platform. What launched as a job posting tool is now a standalone SaaS product called Moribian.

product
Specialized Group provides recruitment services to multinational companies operating in Japan.
With deep expertise in the Japanese labour market, they connect international businesses with local talent — a market with its own language, compliance, and cultural complexity that generic recruitment platforms rarely handle well.
Their ambition was to move beyond manual recruitment processes and use AI to do the work that was eating up recruiter time: writing job specs, screening CVs, matching candidates to roles, and publishing to multiple job boards simultaneously.
Manual processes. A big AI ambition. No easy place to start.
Specialized Group knew they wanted AI in their workflow. What they didn’t have was a clear, low-risk way to test whether their specific requirements were technically achievable before committing to a full build.
The challenge wasn’t just automation — it was getting consistent, quality-assured outputs from AI on tasks that matter commercially: writing job specifications that attract the right candidates, analysing CVs accurately, and posting ads to the right job boards on schedule. Getting this wrong at scale would undermine recruiter trust in the system from day one.
AI feasibility
Needed to validate AI feasibility before committing to a full product build.
Quality AI Output
Required consistent, quality-assured AI output — not just plausible text generation.
System Integration
Existing systems (Bullhorn ATS, job boards, LinkedIn) needed to integrate, not be replaced.
Longer-term vision
Open the platform to any recruitment agency, not just internal use.
Proof of concept first. Then the full build.
We started with a rapid prototyping phase to validate the core AI capabilities — specifically the CV analyser (Datalift) and the AI-driven job spec tool — before committing to a full product. Once proven, we grew the team and built Moribian: a comprehensive AI-powered recruitment platform built around Specialized Group’s specific workflow.
Job Spec Creation Tool
Generates quality job specs from keywords, with GAN-driven refinement using a vector database of successful job descriptions.
Interview Parser & Trainer
Extracts structured data from Fireflies.ai transcripts, maps responses to the ATS, and scores interviewers against templates.
CV Analysis & Augmentation
Extracts and infers candidate details (skills, qualifications, location) and syncs directly with Bullhorn ATS.
SyncedIn Chrome Extension
Extracts and structures candidate data from LinkedIn profiles directly into the ATS pipeline.
Multiposting Job Ad Tool
Publishes quality-assured job ads to multiple job boards on a schedule, hands-free.
A proof of concept that became a product.
now generating revenue for the client
What began as an internal AI workflow tool for Specialized Group’s recruiters is now a standalone SaaS product — Moribian — being developed for any recruitment agency. Phase 1 served Specialized’s own team. Phase 2, underway from July 2025, opens the platform to external clients.
The platform handles end-to-end recruitment automation: from sourcing candidates on LinkedIn, through CV analysis and job spec creation, to interview parsing and job board distribution. Recruiters get quality-assured outputs rather than raw AI text — each feature was designed around how the work actually gets done, not around what AI can theoretically do.
Critically, the approach worked because we proved each capability before building it into the product. The POC phase eliminated technical risk early. By the time Moribian launched, the AI tools had already been validated against real candidate data in a live environment.
The Signal
What started as an internal AI tool for one recruitment firm is now a SaaS platform serving the market. The prototype didn’t just prove a concept — it became the product.
“Offshorly responded to our needs through both staff augmentation and building a dedicated team — they understood what we were trying to build and how to get there incrementally.”
