Copack Connect
How an industrial marketing agency launched a B2B membership marketplace on time and within budget
TMG needed a platform to digitise their matchmaking expertise, connecting food brands with vetted manufacturers at scale. We built it, and we keep building it.
The Melville Group (TMG) is a US-based industrial marketing agency founded in 2008, serving the food and CPG contract manufacturing sector.
Their clients are private equity-backed firms looking to grow revenues, improve margins, and build enterprise value. TMG's edge is deep industry relationships and market intelligence built over decades, but that knowledge was locked in their heads and their rolodex, with no platform to scale it.
Deep expertise. No infrastructure to scale it.
TMG had identified a clear gap in the market: food and CPG brands had no efficient, centralised way to find and connect with vetted manufacturers. TMG could solve that problem, but only if they could build the platform to do it.
The brief was complex. They needed a B2B membership site with tiered access, full CMS control, payment processing, and a structured way for brands to submit sourcing requirements to manufacturers. They also had an existing WordPress site with content to migrate, and a vision for AI-assisted matching that needed to be tested before committing to a full build.
Membership Platform
Build a membership platform from scratch with role-based access for brands, manufacturers, and suppliers
AI-Driven Interview
Replace a static RFQ form with an AI-driven interview that captures richer, structured data
WordPress Migration
Migrate existing WordPress content without losing SEO or editorial structure
Client Controlled
Give TMG full control over content, listings, and member management, without relying on developers for day-to-day updates
Two connected applications. One closed loop.
We designed and built two integrated products: the Copack Connect membership platform, and an AI-assisted RFQ chatbot embedded within it. Together they give TMG a complete system: brands discover providers, then submit structured sourcing requests that are automatically matched against the manufacturer database.
The platform was built on Roots Bedrock WordPress with Timber 2 templating for a maintainable, component-driven architecture. We used Algolia for site-wide search, Stripe for subscription payments, and Simple WP Membership for role-based access across three member types and six membership tiers.
The AI-RFQ application is a Next.js chatbot powered by OpenAI GPT-4o. Instead of handing brands a blank form, it guides them through a structured interview covering product type, processing needs, packaging, certifications, quantities, and timelines, then submits a fully formed RFQ to the WordPress backend. The result is better data for TMG and a faster path to a match for the brand.
Custom WordPress membership platform with 6-tier access control and full CMS
Algolia search across products, manufacturers, suppliers, resources, and news
Custom REST API connecting both applications
Stripe payment integration for membership subscriptions

Content migration from the existing WordPress site
Launched on schedule. Still growing.
on schedule and within budget, then kept scaling within that budget
TMG started with zero members on the platform. Today there are over 900 brands, manufacturers, and suppliers. The site has grown to over 12,000 pages of content and it is as fast as it has ever been. Every time scale created a bottleneck, Offshorly identified it and resolved it before it became a problem.
The engagement is ongoing. TMG is currently working through a major platform upgrade with the same team. That continuity matters: the developers who understand the architecture, the membership model, and the business logic are still there.
The Signal
TMG chose Offshorly after finding them through an online search. A year and a half later, with thousands of members, 12,000+ pages, and a major upgrade underway, they are still with the same team. Reliability compounds.
“We’re amazed at Offshorly’s depth of understanding of our platform and our industry. They listen to our requests, but they don’t execute them blindly. They often come back with questions that compel us to take a closer look at our requests and recommend alternatives that frequently result in a superior outcome. All this is done with an eye towards efficiency without sacrificing speed to market.”
